Big Win for Inverclyde Central

Inverclyde Central scored an emphatic 7-1 away win against Crowwood in the Glasgow League. With grading advantages on the top boards, they were favourites going into the match, but the size of the victory was unexpected. Kevin McDonald, Jim Montogmery, John Calder, Gary McPheator and David Logue all won, but the pick of the victories was Andy Smith's perfomance in beating his opponent, who was rated nearly 100 points higher. Draws for Stephen Hilton, and Stephen Riley ensured that Inverclyde won without losing a board. With two wins out of two, the club have made avoiding relegation likely, and a top-half of the table finish a realistic possibility.
