Kevin MCDonald wins Inverclyde Rapidplay

Kevein McDonald has won the Inverclyde rapidplay with a 100% record. Both he and Jim Montgomery had won all their games before facing each other in the final match. Kevin won the first match comfotably, Jim resigning following a mistake. Jim pressed hard in the second game, but Kevin survived to win the match 2-0 as Jim lost on time in an overwhelming position.
The tournament format was an all-play-all, with each player facing his opponent twice in five minute games, reversing colours. While Kevin and Jim dominated their opposition, strong performances were also recorded by Alex Fisher and Marc Sheridan, who finshed 3rd and 4th respectively. They both coped well with the tight time controls, finshing well above where their gradings would suggest.
