Inverclyde Central Chess Club's Rapidplay Tournament took place at the Royalle Club in Gourock on Monday 7th October. It was hard-fought throughout, with many last-second wins and dramatic finishes.
In an exciting conclusion, going into the last round David Logue was only half a point behind tournament leader Kevin McDonald, with the top two paired against each other in the last round.
Short on time, Kevin managed to secure the draw he needed by gobbling up David's last remaining pawns and claiming a draw by insufficient mating material with only 2 seconds left on his clock!
